We’re going camping!
On Sunday, June 9, instead of holding a service at The Bridge, we will be joining with people from other churches at Durley Family Camp for a combined service and lunch. We will meet at The Bridge at 9:30am to carpool to Durley (45 minutes away near Greenville, IL). The service starts at 10:30am and lunch is served immediately after.
More details: Cost for lunch will be $5 a person. We expect to arrive back at the church no later than 1:30pm. If you’d like to drive separately to stay longer or leave earlier—that’s fine too, and we may be able to arrange different departure times. Either way, make plans to join us for this fun Sunday of connecting with others all over our region and invite someone else too! For more info about Durley and all they’re offering this summer check out durleycamp.org.
We’ll be back at The Bridge on June 16, and you can read below to see what a typical weekend looks like.
our mission At The Bridge Church is to connect people to God and each other.
Everything we do has this mission in mind.
This is most evident when we gather for connection with God and each other. And we want YOU to join us! If you'd like, you can even let us know you're coming here.
Whether or not you're sure about God, we want you to know that we are a safe place for you to explore who he is.
When you arrive, we invite you to grab a cup of coffee and some of the refreshments we have available and then take a seat at one of the tables or in the rows of chairs.
If you have kids, we would love for them to join us for BridgeKids, our environment for kids through grade 5. If they choose to take part, you will check them in at a table in our lobby when you arrive. They will be given a name badge with a corresponding code to the tag you're given.
They will be released to have age-appropriate teaching and activities about halfway through our time together. At the conclusion of our service, you can pick your kids up by showing the corresponding code.
Students grades 6-12 take part in our services and have their own separate gatherings. You can use the contact tab to request more info and a current schedule for Bridge Youth meetings.
Our services usually begin with a welcome and then we sing songs together led by our music team. We also like to have fun, so sometimes there will be a surprise song, a game, or something else to make you laugh.
Next, we have an opportunity to connect with each other for several minutes and grab some coffee and a snack while our kids meet their leaders to take part in BridgeKids.
Then we have a time of teaching when one of our pastors or another leader gives us a message designed to help us connect with God and each other in greater ways. You can check out an example here. Our time concludes with a challenge and an opportunity to respond to what we've heard. All of this takes place in the course of about 1 hour.
